Beverly Hills, CA (April 16, 2021) – With the trial of former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin nearing its conclusion and the potential of increased demonstrations and protest activity across the country, the City of Beverly Hills is taking a proactive approach to ensure a safe community for residents, businesses and visitors.

Beginning next week, the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) will be on full alert throughout the residential and business districts.   Additionally, other law enforcement personnel and private security companies will offer support and coordinate closely with BHPD.

“While we are hopeful for a peaceful time following the verdict, the Beverly Hills Police Department is well prepared and committed to protecting our City,” said BHPD Chief Dominick Rivetti.

As a precautionary measure, some businesses in the City may choose to limit operations during this time.  The City may also take preventive measures to protect City facilities and property.
